Opera 7 and earlier

Instructions

  1. Click on the ' File ' menu with the mouse or by pressing ' Alt ' + ' F '.
  2. Click on ' Preferences ' option with the mouse or by pressing ' F ' .
  3. From the ' Preferences ' dialog box click on ' Fonts and Colours ' from the list on the left with the mouse or by pressing the down arrow key.
  4. From the list of options select the type of text you want to change for example ' Normal ' style (see Fig 1 )from the list with the mouse or by pressing ' Tab ' and using the up and down arrow keys.
  5. Once you have selected your 'font type' for example ' Normal ' you need to change the font settings, do this by clicking on ' Choose ' or by pressing ' C ' on the keyboard.
  6. In the font dialog box that pops up, choose your ' Font ' for example ' Arial ' , the Font style for example ' Regular ' and your font ' Size ' for example ' 16 ' (as shown in Fig 1 ). You can either do this by clicking (using the scroll bars for ' Font ' and ' Size ' ) on the options or using the arrow keys to move up and down a list and ' Tab ' to move to the next option.
  7. When you are happy with your choice click the ' OK ' or press ' Enter ' once to close the ' Font ' dialog box .

    Next you need to tell Opera to use your fonts and colour choices, to do this:

  1. Select ' Page Style ' from the list on the left by clicking on it or press ' Tab ' until the left pane is highlighted and then use the down arrow key. (see Fig 2 ).

  2. Uncheck the ' Page style sheet ' checkboxes under both the ' Author mode ' and ' User mode ' headings either by clicking on the checkboxes or by pressing ' Alt ' + ' P ' and ' Alt '+ ' G ' respectively .
  3. Uncheck the ' Page fonts and colors ' checkboxes under both the ' Author mode ' and ' User mode ' headings either by clicking on the checkboxes or by pressing ' Alt ' + ' F ' and ' Alt ' + ' N ' respectively .
  4. Select the ' My fonts and colours ' checkboxes under both the ' Author mode ' and ' User mode ' headings, either by clicking on the checkboxes or by pressing ' Alt '+ ' C ' and ' Alt ' + ' O ' respectively.
  5. Click the ' OK ' button or press ' Enter ' to return to Opera.

    Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
