Opera 7 and earlier
Instructions
- Click on the ' File ' menu with the mouse or by pressing ' Alt ' + ' F '.
- Click on ' Preferences ' option with the mouse or by pressing ' F ' .
- From the ' Preferences ' dialog box click on ' Fonts and Colours ' from the list on the left with the mouse or by pressing the down arrow key.
- From the list of options select the type of text you want to change for example ' Normal ' style (see Fig 1 )from the list with the mouse or by pressing ' Tab ' and using the up and down arrow keys.
- Once you have selected your 'font type' for example ' Normal ' you need to change the font settings, do this by clicking on ' Choose ' or by pressing ' C ' on the keyboard.
- In the font dialog box that pops up, choose your ' Font ' for example ' Arial ' , the Font style for example ' Regular ' and your font ' Size ' for example ' 16 ' (as shown in Fig 1 ). You can either do this by clicking (using the scroll bars for ' Font ' and ' Size ' ) on the options or using the arrow keys to move up and down a list and ' Tab ' to move to the next option.
- When you are happy with your choice click the ' OK ' or press ' Enter ' once to close the ' Font ' dialog box .
Fig 1Next you need to tell Opera to use your fonts and colour choices, to do this:
- Select ' Page Style ' from the list on the left by clicking on it or press ' Tab ' until the left pane is highlighted and then use the down arrow key. (see Fig 2 ).

- Uncheck the ' Page fonts and colors ' checkboxes under both the ' Author mode ' and ' User mode ' headings either by clicking on the checkboxes or by pressing ' Alt ' + ' F ' and ' Alt ' + ' N ' respectively .
- Select the ' My fonts and colours ' checkboxes under both the ' Author mode ' and ' User mode ' headings, either by clicking on the checkboxes or by pressing ' Alt '+ ' C ' and ' Alt ' + ' O ' respectively.
- Click the ' OK ' button or press ' Enter ' to return to Opera.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
